Swag, Handbooks, and Interpretive Tools

Handbooks

Originally published in 2006, over 1,000 copies of The Handbook for Interpretive Guides have been sold to interpreters and park services throughout the world. The Handbook for Interpretive Guides has been praised as an example of how local information can be transformed into usable interpretive stories and is now split into three separate handbooks (digital versions only):

  • How to Interpret
  • Canadian Rockies Ecology, Geology, and History
  • Group Management

Note: If you are registering for an IGA course, you will be emailed a copy of the associated handbook as part of the registration fee.

Swag and Interpretive Tools

IGA Animal Scat or Track Socks are Outway All-Day Performance socks that include moisture wicking, arch support, breathability, and some really cool designs bound to start an interesting conversation! The animal scat design was developed by local high school students. Socks come in two sizes: small/medium or medium/large.

IGA Toques are made in Canada by Ambler. These Merino Wool Blend custom toques come in two colours - Heather Charcoal and Pine - and feature a vegan leather IGA logo tag.

We offer a flat rate of $5/item shipping to anywhere in Canada for our socks and toques or free local pick-up in Canmore. Interpretive tools are only available for local pick-up in Canmore. If you have questions, please reach out to courses@interpretiveguides.org.
