Geology & Ecology Field Trip with Peter Duck- November 28, 2026

Join Master Interpreter Peter Duck on this field trip around the Town of Banff (and surroundings) to discover some of the geological features and ecologic wonders of the Canadian Rockies.

This field trip is open to everyone, but is a part of the Professional Interpreter certification program, so priority will be given to Professional Interpreter students.

What to Expect

Expect to spend a day learning from a Master Interpreter while you explore Banff through a story-telling lens. You might visit Lake Minnewanka, the Hoodoos, the Bow Falls, the Fairmont Hotel, or discover little-known fossils right within town that you have never noticed before. Peter will put your knowledge of the ecology, geology and history of the Canadian Mountain Parks to the test - you are sure to learn something, and have the opportunity to expand your guiding skills and personal knowledge of the area.

This is a full-day event - please come prepared for Canadian Rockies winter weather (which can mean anything).
Lunch and transportation are not included. Please pack your own snacks and water. Carpooling is encouraged!
