2026 Annual General Meeting and Interpretive Presentation – Virtual so everyone can join!
Join us virtually for the IGA’s 2026 Annual General Meeting, followed by a keynote presentation by Glen Hvenegaard of the University of Alberta.
Date: Monday, October 19, 2026
Time: 2:00–4:30 p.m. Mountain Time
Location: Online via Zoom
PD hours: 2.5 hours
The IGA’s virtual AGM is your chance to connect with the IGA team and fellow members, hear about a year of growth, and learn where the association is headed next.
Following the meeting, we are pleased to welcome our keynote speaker, Glen Hvenegaard, who will present Finding Farley: Insights about Interpretive Guiding from an Alberta-based Naturalist.
What can a naturalist from a century ago teach us about guiding today? Frank Farley was an Alberta birder, author and citizen scientist who shared his knowledge with his community and inspired young people, including his grand-nephew, Farley Mowat. Through an exploration of Farley’s life and legacy, Glen will invite us to consider different approaches to guiding, reflect on the people who have shaped our own practice, and explore the impact we can have on our clients, communities and the natural world.
The presentation is available exclusively to members who attend the AGM.
You’ll have the chance to:
-
Discover how Farley connected people with birds and the natural world.
-
Compare ways guides can make an impact in different settings.
-
Reflect on the people who shaped your own practice and the influence you hope to have on clients, communities and nature.
