40 hour Adventure Medic w/ RMAMCourse List

Rocky Mountain Adventure Medicine have partnered with the IGA to offer this 40-hour adventure medic course to our members and friends of the IGA. If you work as a guide and take clients out on any trail (even ones that seem insignificant) having a minimum of 40 hours of first aid is a must. This course will help you feel more in control and confident taking clients out on your programs away from parking lots, towns and emergency assistance.

The course covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus advanced strategies for providing extended care for more than 24 hours. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.

This course is hosted by the Interpretive Guides Association and is being taught by Rocky Mountain Adventure Medicine.

Participants receive a course workbook, textbook “Wilderness First Aid – Emergency Care for Remote Locations”, and an Adventure Medic Wilderness First Aid certification. Use of all medical supplies required during the course is included. Participants will have the option to purchase a first aid kit and/or supplies at a discounted rate during the course.

The course will be taught in person following strict Covid-19 policies. Please come prepared to wear a mask throughout the days and follow the rules set out by the first aid instructor. Please read and be prepared to adhere to our COVID-19 policy
