Your Instructor: Ross Mitchel is a retired lawyer and recent apprentice hiking guide graduate. He was born and raised in Calgary and fortunate enough to have spent a lot of time in the Rocky Mountains hiking, climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, and mountain biking. He was a litigation lawyer in Calgary for more than 30 years after graduating with a law degree from the University of Toronto and a master's degree in law from the University of Edinburgh. Ross is the perfect person to help explain more about liability and waivers for guides who are being paid or volunteering; those with their own companies or working for others.
