Outdoor Activity - Common Ground: Climate Change in our Community • 1:30 - 3:00 pm Course List
During this outdoor workshop, participants will identify links between our local landscapes and climate change issues to better understand how this problem is affecting our local ecosystems. We will delve into some of the solutions and adaptations and how to engage in meaningful dialogue with diverse audiences about climate change.

Location: Meet your guide - Adam Mertens from the Biosphere Institute, in the Marketplace foyer - Canmore Nordic Centre Banquet room (2nd floor of the main lodge)
Participant requirements: This session will take place outside, so come prepared for all types of weather and you must be comfortable walking on uneven ground for 1.5 hours. You may want to bring a backpack with extra clothing, water, sunscreen, bugspray and a snack.

Adam got his start in interpretation as an environmental educator and communicator with Alberta Parks in Kananaskis Country. Presently he is involved in the development and delivery of environmental education programming for the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley, a charity that empowers residents, businesses and visitors of the Bow Valley to be active environmental stewards. He focuses on education related to human-wildlife coexistence and climate change issues at a local scale.
Cancellation Policy: Programs will run regardless of weather so come prepared. The weather in the montains can change unexectadly this time of year so bring a pack with extra layers, a toque, mitts, rain gear, snacks, water, sunscreen, bug spray and warm shoes.
If the IGA has to cancel this program for any reason we will email you a cancellation notice. If you need to cancel please let us know in advance so we can fill your space. The Biosphere Institute is funding this program and we want to make sure to have as many people join as possible.
