Your employer has just handed you an assignment to take a group on a hike to Larch Valley in two days. You can get the forecast for Banff from Environment Canada but the weather in Larch Valley can be very different. How do you determine what the weather will be like so you can be properly prepared?
This hands-on, practical Interpretive Guides Association workshop will help you figure that out.
The course will cover some basic theory (just enough to make the practical component understandable), cloud identification, cloud meanings, various in the field ways figure out the weather, practical scenarios, Internet searching techniques to help you figure out how to find the best weather information and group work to help you create your own forecast with live data.
