What we do
The Interpretive Guides Association (formally Mountain Parks Heritage Interpretation Association) is a professional body representing interpretive guides who connect people to Canada’s mountain parks.
We believe that meaningful and memorable experiences in the parks can be fostered by experiences with professionally accredited interpreters. These interpreters weave the local natural and cultural history into engaging stories that help people feel a personal connection to mountain landscapes and cultures in Canada.
Like any professionals, interpreters need professional representation, accreditation and on-going opportunities for learning and discovery. The Interpretive Guides Association provides services that support guides and ensure visitors to the mountain parks have enjoyable, safe and memorable experiences in the parks.
