The role of the IGA awards system is to recognize those who have made significant contributions in furthering the aims and goals of the IGA and interpretation in general.
We offer three distinct awards to current members of the IGA who have shown excellence in the field of interpretive guiding. These will be awarded to worthy recipients at our AGM in May.
The role of the IGA awards system is to recognize those who have made significant contributions in furthering the aims and goals of the IGA and in interpretation in general. There are now three distinct awards available to current members of the IGA who have shown excellence in the field of interpretive guiding:
- Ben Gadd Award of Excellence
- Best New Professional Interpreter
- Excellence in Aboriginal Interpreting

The Interpretive Guides Association’s Outstanding Heritage Interpreter Award recognized an accredited interpretive guide who demonstrated excellence in heritage interpretation in Banff National Park. Programs developed and delivered by nominees illustrated their dedication and proficiency in the field of professional interpretation.
